Chai Tea Concentrate– Makes about 3 1/2 Cups of Concentrate.

4 cups filtered water

10 Cloves, whole

10 Cardamom Pods, crushed

10 Peppercorns, whole

1/8 tsp Allspice

1/8 tsp Nutmeg, fresh ground is best

1/8- 1/4 tsp Turmeric (or 1/2 tsp fresh grated)

1/4 tsp Ginger ( or 1 tsp fresh grated)

2 Cinnamon sticks or 1/4 tsp ground

3 Tbl loose Tea or 4 Tea Bags- Rooibus (caffeine free), Green Tea or Black Tea. Organic is best!

Sea Salt- a pinch- optional

1/4 vanilla bean scraped (or 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (Save the pod and add to sugar for vanilla sugar or make your own extract)- optional

Warmed Milk- I like cashew, oat, almond but anything you like will do.

Directions-

  1. Bring water to a boil. Add everything. Let steep or VERY small simmer on Low for 15-20 minutes. Strain and enjoy with warmed milk and sweetener of choice. Start with a 1:1 ration of Chai to milk. Store in glass jars in fridge.

Note- If you don’t have all of these ingredients, don’t worry. If you don’t like or tolerate some of them, omit.

Adding some tangerine oil or zest, almond extract. These add a nice added flavor.

I like to add Vital Protein Collagen Powder and Stamets 7 Mushroom powder sometimes for added health benefits.

Make it your own. Have fun with it. Enjoy!
